Keepmoat Begins House Building Programme In Waltham Forest

Keepmoat is underway with a large scale house building programme in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

Working in partnership with Waltham Forest Council, the company will create hundreds of new homes across the borough by 2020.

The first phase of the project will see 13 derelict garages replaced with two new three-bedroom homes along with gardens at Rosslyn Road in Walthamstow.

Overall, the first phase of the project will see 49 new homes built and is due to be completed in March 2017.

All of the houses will have high sustainability standards, incorporating solar panels, condensing gas boilers and well insulated walls and roofs.

Cllr Khevyn Limbajee said: "We have embarked on an ambitious programme to build hundreds more homes in the borough, in order to cope with demand and address the lack of good-sized, affordable housing.

"A significant number of these new homes will be built on Council owned land, and we've embarked on a really progressive scheme by looking at all of the garage sites we own. I'm pleased to be working in partnership with Keepmoat on this project, and look forward to seeing these sites being transformed into high quality homes for local people."

Dan Germann, Regional MD at Keepmoat's Southern Developments division, said: "This project will bring a range of exciting, high quality houses and flats to Waltham Forest. Working across 15 different sites on this first phase means we are providing meaningful regeneration to the borough and much-needed, new housing for local people."
