South West Water has appointed PWN Technologies to help deliver a new £60 million water treatment works (WTW) in Plymouth.
The Dutch company will be responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of the facility's main water treatment process in Crownhill.
In addition, consultancy firm Arcadis has been selected as the main design contractor, in partnership with consulting engineers Pell Frischmann.
Main construction contractor Balfour Beatty will be responsible for all infrastructure, buildings and pipeline works, in partnership with Interserve.
Each firm has been working with South West Water as part of the company's H5O engineering delivery alliance since 2009.
Around 150 jobs are expected to be created during construction.
The new facility will replace the outdated centre, which was built in the 1950s and is reaching the end of its operational life.
Senior Project Manager Mike Court said: "We're delighted to officially welcome our partners PWN Technologies, Balfour Beatty, Interserve, Arcadis and Pell Frishmann on board for what promises to be a very exciting and globally significant project.
"The new treatment works will meet the needs of Plymouth's growing population and provide a secure, high-quality drinking water supply for the wider Plymouth area for generations to come."
Construction is scheduled to finish by December 2017, with a view to becoming operational in September 2018.
