Keepmoat has secured a £10.8 million contract to deliver the first phase of a regeneration scheme in London.

The house builder will deliver 57 new homes as part of L&Q's Excalibur estate regeneration project in Lewisham.

The scheme will eventually see 371 new homes built on the site.

The contract also involves Keepmoat delivering all associated infrastructure works.

Dan Germann, Regional MD at Keepmoat, said: "We are incredibly excited about signing our first contract on the L&Q framework and to start on the regeneration of the Excalibur estate.

"This project is a great example of how we have been working with local authorities and housing associations in London to make sure we are maintaining and building communities in the right way whilst providing much-needed, high quality housing and employment opportunities in the capital."

Jerome Geoghegan, Group Director Development & Sales at L&Q, added: "With the regeneration of the Excalibur estate, we have set in motion our plans to build a pipeline of 50,000 new homes by 2020 as we work to alleviate the capital’s chronic housing shortage."

Work on the site will begin in April 2016.
