BAM has secured a £50 million contract to deliver a 'significant' new build programme for Oxford University's Keble College.

Works involve demolishing the listed Acland private hospital and building the H B Allen Centre.

Designed by Rick Mather Associates, the facility will contain 230 graduate rooms with space for research activities.

In addition, it will contain a 120-seat lecture theatre, seminar rooms, an exhibition space, café and a gym.

The scheme is the largest ever undertaken by Keble and is possible due to a £25m grant pledged by the HB Allen Charitable Trust.

It is also among the largest BAM has ever secured in the county and takes the firm past £200m of construction works over the last 12 years in Oxfordshire.

Archaeological surveys will begin shortly with BAM due to break ground in July.

Project completion is scheduled for summer 2018.
