Skanska has secured a £45m contract to build a mixed-use building in London.

The company will deliver the Copyright Building for Derwent London in the West End.

Designed by Piercy & Company, the 9,800 sq m project will include a mixture of retail and offices.

1,850 sq m of retail space will be developed on the ground floor, with 7,950 sq m of fully fitted out category 'A' offices across seven floors with two floors of roof terraces.

The project is also aiming for a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating, using sustainable approaches throughout the construction phase and installing solar panels on the building's green roof.

Skanska has put together a specialist in-house team to deliver the project. The unit will install and commission chilled plasterboard ceilings, unique to the UK, to all seven upper floors.

Works are expected to be completed by autumn 2017.
