Maintenance works are due to begin on the A27 road in West Sussex, Highways England has announced.
Sections of the Upper Brighton Road at Sompting will be resurfaced between Grove Lodge roundabout and Manor Road roundabout.
The five-week project will take place overnight between 8pm and 5am beginning on Monday, 29 February.
The first phase of work involves closing the eastbound carriageway for 12 nights, with work then switching to the westbound carriageway for a further 12 nights starting on Wednesday, 16 March.
The scheme is expected to be finished by 01 April.
Bala Vishnubala, Highways England Project Manager, said: "This resurfacing work will help us to keep journeys on the A27 safe and reliable, and is necessary because the existing road surface has reached the end of its operational life."
Diversions will be in place.
