REL Electrical has carried out mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works at a new primary school development in London.

Lakehouse selected REL to deliver the £1.75 million MEP package at its £10 million Prendergast Primary School project in Lewisham.

Works included installing all lighting, data, power, cabling and security equipment including access control and CCTV.

In addition, REL developed air conditioning and a sprinkler system throughout the building, PV panels on the roof, as well as a full, natural ventilation system to make the development more energy efficient.

Features of Lakehouse's £10m purpose-built building includes two new reception classes, 14 classrooms, an atrium and kitchen area as well as a five-a-side football pitch.

Paul O'Connell, senior projects manager at Lakehouse said: "We've worked with REL for over 16 years so have a well-established relationship that ensures programmes are delivered to the highest quality, within budget and on time. 

"REL's input into the original design was a key factor in the team winning this contract and has resulted in a highly efficient, environmentally-friendly M&E solution."
