A £1.8 million resurfacing project is to begin in Devon and Cornwall later today, 08 February.

Sections of the A38 and A30 are to be upgraded as part of a three-phase project to improve journeys in the region.

Highways England will begin resurfacing a four-mile stretch of the A38 westbound from 7pm tonight, 08 February.

The second phase of work on the A38 will begin once the first stage is completed and is expected to last until the middle of March.

The final phase will take place on the A30 in Devon and is scheduled to finish by the end of March.

Highways England Project Manager, Roger Stribling, said: "This £1.8 million resurfacing project is part of the government's commitment to maintaining England's roads, and will ensure smoother journeys and maintain safety.

"The work has been planned to minimise disruption and that is why work will take place overnight when traffic flows are lowest."

Diversions will be in place.
