McAleer & Rushe Secures £26m Contract

McAleer & Rushe has secured a £26 million contract to build a new hotel development at Stansted Airport.

Planning permission for the £45 million 357-bed Hampton by Hilton was secured by developer Urban&Civic.

Direct terminal access to the airport will also be provided following a deal to acquire the two-acre site from the property/development division of Manchester Airports Group [MAG].

The eight-storey development was designed by architects Leach Rhodes Walker and will contain three lifts.

Set to become the largest Hampton by Hilton in Europe, the hotel is due to open in summer 2017.

Contracts Director Peter Devlin said: "McAleer & Rushe has established itself as the 'go-to' contractor for airport hotels because of our ability to provide design-led solutions for challenging locations. We look forward to building a long term relationship with Urban&Civic and are very pleased to continue our on-going partnership with Hilton."
