Lovell is to deliver a £21.8 million regeneration programme in North London.

The company has been selected redevelop the Dover Court estate for Islington Council.

It is understood 70 new energy efficient homes [36 apartments and 34 houses] will be built across nine sites on the state, including former garages and car parking.

In addition, Romford House will be replaced with a new purpose-built develop for residents aged over 55.

The scheme has been designed by Pollard Thomas Edwards architects and includes extensive improvements to the estate's open spaces, an improved ball court, estates paths, play areas and community facilities.

Lovell regional MD Michael O'Farrell said: "We're delighted to have been appointed by Islington Council to this major scheme which is also our first contract awarded through Islington's New Build Contractor Framework. We look forward to using the company's expertise in delivering high-quality mixed tenure estate regeneration programmes to bring these quality homes and enhanced public spaces and community facilities to Dover Court."

Lovell is set to start work on the three-year construction programme next month.
