Wates Construction has been chosen to deliver a new Universal Technical College (UTC) in London.
The new Mulberry UTC has been designed by architects Scott Brownrigg and is to be built in Bow.
It will provide places for 800 students and includes a 250-seat purpose-designed theatre, media suites, a film and TV studio, a theatre construction and craft workshop and specialist health suites.
It is understood Wates are also in line to develop two more UTC projects for the Education Funding Agency (EFA), the London Design and Engineering in Becton and Bromley UTC.
Dr Vanessa Ogden, Headteacher of Mulberry School for Girls, said: "We are delighted to be working with Wates Construction to bring our vision for the UTC to reality in time for our first intake of students in September 2017."
Phil Shortman, MD of Wates London, added: "This is a significant contract and we’re excited to work alongside a prestigious education institution such as Mulberry School for Girls and look forward to commencing work on site next year."
