Equipment hire firm Hewden has purchased lifting and handling material company Interlift.
It is understood the move will expand the company's rental fleet and is part of Hewden's plans to further services in the construction, industrial and events markets.
With depots in Middlesbrough, Hull and Glasgow, Interlift provides a range of lifting equipment such as hoists, lifting straps, shackles, beam and plate clamps, height safety and man riding equipment.
Hewden CEO, Adrian Murphy, said: "Like any successful business we are continuously evolving. Our goal has always been to develop and acquire complimentary businesses that have the best people and the best products to support our customers in the markets they operate.
"This acquisition acts as a testament to that and increases our capacity to offer industry leading specialist lifting products and services within our business."
