Ecotricity has revealed plans to install a wind turbine at a factory in Yorkshire.

The green energy company will carry out the project for aircrete products manufacturer H+H UK at its site in Pollington.

It is understood Ecotricity will finance and build the turbine, while H+H will consume the energy on-site.

The 800kW single wind turbine will be 73 metres tall and will produce almost two million units of electricity.

Overall, it will save 700 tonnes of Co2 and will power the equivalent of almost 500 homes.

H+H UK Production Director, Ed Surman, said: "We are excited by the prospect of generating electricity on site at Pollington to continue the reduction of carbon emissions from our business."
