J.Murphy Appoints Two Non-Executive Directors

J. Murphy & Sons has appointed two non-executive directors.

Huw Davies, chief financial officer and company secretary of the Wates Group joined the company on 01 November. He will chair the audit and risk committee.

Mike Toms, non-executive director at Bellway, was appointed to the company on 01 December and will become the chair of the remuneration committee.

Mr Davis has been Wates' chief financial officer and company secretary for the past decade and leaves the company at the end of March, 2016. He has significant experience in the construction industry and is currently non-executive director of Hydro International plc and Wessex Water, as well as chairman of I CAN, the children's communication charity.

Mr Toms has been non-executive director at Bellway since 2009 and is currently a non-executive director of Birmingham Airport Holdings Limited. Previously, he was an executive director of BAA plc as well as a non-executive chairman of Northern Ireland Electricity plc and a non-executive director of Viridian Group PLC and UK Coal PLC.

Group chairman of Murphy, Alastair Kerr, said: "I'm so pleased to welcome Huw and Mike, who have already made a great contribution to the company in their first weeks with us.
