A Bristol-based scaffolding firm has been fined after a worker fell nine metres from a scaffold structure.
Tubular Access Scaffolds Limited, of Duckmoor Road, Ashton, pleaded guilty to offences under Regulation 4(1) of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
It was fined £26,250.
Bristol Magistrates' Court heard how an employee of the firm was dismantling a scaffold structure at Berkley Crescent, Clifton on 23 July 2013.
However, he fell from the scaffold and suffered life-changing head injuries.
A Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigation found no evidence of fall prevention measures taken by the company prior to the incident.
HSE Principal Inspector Helena Tinton said: "If the company had managed a safe system of work with properly trained and equipped scaffolders, then the employee would not have suffered such terrible injuries."
