David Allvey, Chairman of Costain, has announced that he will stand down from the firm in 2016.
Mr Allvey has been Chairman of the company for the last seven years, prior to which he was a non-executive Director for fourteen years.
Following the news, Costain announced that it will be seeking to appoint a successor to Mr Allvey.
The process of finding a successor is underway and being led by Senior Independent Director, James Morley.
The company said further announcements about the appointment would follow.
