BAM Delivers Over £100m Of New Buildings

Construction News Image
Over £100m of new buildings have been delivered by BAM Construction in the East Midlands, it has been announced.

The developments were all completed inside the last three years.

Eight new buildings were handed over in October 2012 when BAM completed the sustainable Orchard Hotel for the University of Nottingham.

In addition, the firm completed new Civic Offices for Derby City Council, which won BAM's Steve Roome the UK Construction Manager of the Year Award.

Six more structures have been delivered since then, including schools in Nottingham, Mansfield and Derby.

Most recently, a second UTC at Burton and South Derbyshire was completed in September.

In addition, BAM also delivered the Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology (NUAST) school.

At East Midlands Airport, the company has undertaken a series of facilities and alterations.

Rod Stiles, Director of BAM in the Midlands, said: "As a result of these eight schemes, which total around £100 million, and our policy of procuring our labour and materials as locally as we can, we've been able to channel back well over £30 million pounds in local orders. The CBI tells us that a pound spent on construction generates three more in knock-on spending for local economies."
