Morgan Sindall has been awarded a £60 million contract to deliver a new science research building at Cambridge.
The 155,000 sq ft Array Multiplex facility is to be developed for BioMed Realty at Granta Park.
It will become the new European HQ for biomedical company Illumina.
The three-storey concrete frame building will provide a space for scientific research, including a data centre capable of handling Illumina's data requirement.
Sustainable features of the development includes brise soleil solar shading panels to maintain the building's temperature and prevent overheating.
It will also include a three-storey winter garden.
Bob Ensch, area director from Morgan Sindall, said: "The Array Multiplex building is a key development on Granta Park and we're very pleased to have been appointed to this significant project.
"The building will utilise next-generation 'smart' technology and help to ensure the building operates at optimum capacity throughout its lifetime."
