Willmott Dixon has been selected to build a new £14m campus for Coventry University.

The Scarborough Campus opened in September this year and is to relocate to Weaponess Valley Car Park in September 2016.

Willmott Dixon, appointed under the Scape Group's National Major Works Framework, will create a purpose built campus including a library, IT suites, a café, a mock law court, an engineering and science labs along with a careers team.

The campus will form a key part of the £45m sports and education facility in Scarborough's old Weaponness Park and Ride site.

Anthony Dillon, MD for Willmott Dixon in Yorkshire, said: "We have a proud track record in Yorkshire, which is evident in nearby Beverley where our mixed-use development in the town centre is creating jobs and encouraging inward investment.

"We are delighted to be continuing this in Scarborough by creating the new Coventry University Scarborough Campus and like all our projects, the focus will be on how we support the local economy by using companies from around Scarborough as much as possible to carry out work packages."
