Network Rail has announced a road bridge in Crewe is to be rebuilt as part of a £17m upgrade programme.
Work on the A532 Hungerford road bridge will extend the structures life by over 60 years.
The first phase of work is to begin on 26 October and will be completed by 04 January.
Structural improvements will then be undertaken to the bridge from 04 January to 10 June.
Mark Ashton, scheme project manager at Network Rail said: "These vital engineering works, involving major structural improvements to both walls of the road bridge, will help ensure the long-term safety of the bridge for both road users and rail passengers."
