Ofgem Appoints Consortium As OFTO Of Wind Farm

Balfour Beatty Equitix Consortium (BBEC) has been appointed by Ofgem to own and operate an offshore transmission link (OTL) to a wind farm in the North Sea.

The deal allows BBEC to operate the Humber Gateway wind farm for the next 20 years.

The deal completes the procurement of Tender Round 3 offshore transmission owner (OFTO) projects.

The wind farm, located 8km off the coast of East Yorkshire, comprises 73 wind turbines and has a total installed capacity of 220MW.

The estimated value of the transmission assets is £173.3m.

BBEC is a partnership comprising of Balfour Beatty Investments and Equitix.
