New Sports Club Opens In Birmingham

A new sports club has been unveiled in Birmingham.

The new Edgbaston Foundation Sports Ground will become a new hub for junior, recreational and community sports projects in the area.

The club also features a £750,000 pavilion funded by Persimmon Homes Central, which is based on the nine acre Cape Hill site at Portland Road.

Persimmon Homes purchased the land following the closure of the M&B brewery in 2003, with permission granted to develop 800 properties on the site providing the sports club was retained for sporting use.

Duncan Shaw, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes Central, said: "We are extremely proud to be part of the redevelopment of the sports pavilion."
