Wates Living Space has been appointed by Newlon Housing Trust to deliver responsive repairs and maintenance for its housing stock across London.
The five-year contract will see Wates take responsibility for providing a range of repairs and maintenance services for nearly 8,000 homes.
It is also hoped that the partnership will be extended to cover cyclical and major works commitments further into the contact.
The appointment follows an extensive procurement process, which included review and approval of shortlisted contractors at preferred bidder stage by Newlon residents.
Both delivery teams have already been working closely together in the lead up to contract commencement to ensure the smooth transition of services. This includes co-location at local offices.
Wates will also actively support Newlon's local employment and training programmes.
David Morgan, Regional Managing Director for Wates Living Space South Maintenance, said: "Wates Living Space is extremely proud of its place as one of the UK's leading affordable housing contractors, and our appointment to deliver this responsive repairs and maintenance contract for Newlon Housing Trust is testament to our expertise as a quality maintenance provider."
Director of Property Services at Newlon, Mark Newstead, said: "I am really pleased to announce the appointment of Wates Living Space as our new repairs and maintenance contractor. We have a shared commitment to working in partnership and improving services. I am confident that Wates will help us deliver outstanding services for our residents."
