Council Set To Reveal £80,000 Children's Playground

Nottingham City Council is set to open a new £80,000 children's playground in Basford.

The facility at Stockhill Park was developed after a partnership between the council and the local residents' group, Saltar.

Features of the park includes climbing frames, two sets of swings, a roundabout and fire engine-themed play equipment.

The playground coincides with the £15,000 refurbishment of the park's pavilion.

The funding for the project came from a £50,000 WREN (Waste Recycling Environmental) grant, with the remainder coming from the City Council.

Councillor Dave Trimble said: "This is a fantastic step forward for Stockhill Park and one of the first new play areas in the city for a number of years."

The officially opening ceremony will take place on 12 August at 4pm.
