Amey Awarded £113m Contract

Construction News Image
Amey has been awarded a £113 million contract to deliver waste water services across the whole of Yorkshire Water's region.

The company will repair and maintain approximately 20,000 miles of sewer pipe which transports waste water from nearly two million homes to over 600 waste water treatment works.

The award will see Amey expand its presence in the North of England and build upon its existing relationship with Yorkshire Water, who it has worked with for five years.

The new agreement is an addition to Amey's current Yorkshire Water Framework, which delivers non infrastructure projects in the region.

"We are delighted to expand the scope of our work with Yorkshire Water. Both our organisations will work together to improve essential services and provide an outstanding customer experience across the region."

Charlie Haysom, Yorkshire Water's Director of Service Delivery, said: "This major contract has been designed to deliver the best possible service for our customers at the best price with the highest levels of safety."

The contract begins on 26 September and will run until April 2020, with the option to be extended for a further five years.
