Birmingham-based Allen Construction Consultancy has helped develop affordable family eco homes for Ealing Council.
Allen Construction was appointed by the council to oversee the whole process of surveying, designing, planning and building the scheme.
The contractor was Sandwood Contruction.
The £700,000 project in Northolt involved building one and two semi-detached homes on what was previously poor quality land, as part of the council's new build affordable housing pipeline.
The three-bedroom properties have been developed to high design specifications and eco standards using timber framed Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) construction.
The properties incorporate a range of eco features such as mechanical ventilation, heat recovery units and high performance glazing.
Other features include permeable paving made of recycled tyres and stone chips, which reduces the level of excavation required for drainage.
In addition, living green screens were installed to provide an ecological, low maintenance alternative to traditional fences and walls.
Paul Quinney, Director for Allen Construction, said: "This scheme wasn't without its challenges but we've worked closely with Ealing Council and others to ensure that the goals were fully met.
"We are especially proud to have been able to bring new creative methods of construction forward that made the whole building process more efficient, resulting in attractive eco homes that will minimise tenants' fuel bills."
The scheme was funded by the council and supported by the Greater London Authority (GLA).
