Tidal Lagoon Power To Appoint Delivery Director

Tidal Lagoon Power has announced Mike Unsworth will join the company as Delivery Director for the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon project in August.

He will support Andrew McNaughton in developing the world's first tidal lagoon power plant by leading the construction and commissioning activities of the project's contractors.

Mr Unsworth has over 30 years of experience in the thermal and renewable power industry, working as both client and supplier.

Joining from Eneco Wind UK, he is currently leading the £3 billion 970 MW Navitus Bay project and sits as Vice Chair of Renewable UK's Offshore Wind Delivery Group.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Unsworth said: "This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to help deliver a new and potentially transformational option in the UK’s energy portfolio.

"I am joining a first class team with an inspirational vision and a pilot project that has captured the world’s attention."
