Merthyr Developments has been fined £12,000 with over £1,400 in costs for safety failings during demolition works.
Merthyr Magistrates Court heard how unsafe demolition was carried out on buildings at the former St. Tydfil’s Hospital site in Merthyr Tydfil in March 2015.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said workers, residents and the public were put at risk from falling debris and the possible collapse of the buildings.
The company was prosecuted by the HSE and pleaded guilty to offences under Regulation 28(1), 29(1), and 29(2) of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
