Work on a new retail destination in Oxford is officially underway.
The £440 million Westgate retail development is a joint venture between Land Securities and The Crown Estate.
Building work is already underway and will play host to a number of major retailers, with Michal Kors, H&M, Schuh, Next, John Lewis and Curon Cinemas all having leasing commitments.
The new Westgate Oxford will have over 800,000 sq ft to include 100 new stores, 25 restaurants along with cafes and a boutique cinema, roof top terrace dining and a wealth of new public spaces.
The rooftop terrace will feature views of the dreaming spires of Oxford.
Leading providers of planogram and store planning software, Retail Smart, said: "It is fantastic to hear that Oxford will be benefiting from a world-class retail and leisure destination."
The development is set to be completed by autumn 2017.
