Devon is an area of growth with approximately 80,000 new homes planned over the next 15-20 years.
The East Devon new community of Cranbrook is situated to the east of Exeter city.
Approximately one kilometre separates the new community from major new employment hubs comprising the strategic business park, Skypark, and the expansion of Exeter Airport.
RK District Heating (RKDH) have to date installed all district heating underground heating mains from the newly Built EON energy centre serving and feeding heating and hot water to approximately 800 new properties since August 2012 classed as Phase One.
Work has now commenced for Phase Two which will compromise another 800 properties and to also provide a rail station within the Cranbrook Estate on the Exeter to Waterloo line to be open by 2015.
It is proposed the development will grow to 6,000 dwellings by 2026 and potentially a further 1,000 dwellings by 2033 of which RKDH will hopefully be part off.
