NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards have been given to fifteen site managers of Miller Homes.

The awards, now in its 35th year, recognise and reward "outstanding" site managers and are said to be the UK house-building industry's most prestigious honours.

Welcoming the news, Chief Executive of Miller Homes, Chris Endsor said: "The NHBC has revealed the winners of the first round of this year's Pride in the Job competition and I'm delighted to announce that 15 of our site managers have received Quality Awards.

"These are very important awards for our industry and it always gives me great pride to see our site managers receive recognition for their hard work and commitment to building our homes safely and to the highest quality."

Site managers are judged on a number of criteria including consistency of high standards, leadership, technical expertise, interpretation, health and safety and 'the X factor' – something special which sets the site manager apart.

Mike Quinton, Chief Executive of NHBC, added: "For 35 years, our Pride in the Job Awards have played a pivotal role in NHBC's work to raise standards across the industry through the celebration and sharing of best practice. Put simply, site managers that win an award are creating houses of an outstandingly high standard.

It represents success for the site manager, his team and associated trades as well providing a reputational boost for the building company. Later on this year the winners of a Quality Award are given the opportunity to compete for a more coveted NHBC Seal of Excellence Award.
