A galvanizing company has pledged its support to an innovative product that enables homeowners to conveniently access their external drains without the need for specialist support.
East Anglian Galvanizing has partnered with RJC Commercial to galvanize the steel parts used to create the firm’s EasyLift Manhole Covers, which have been designed to enable individuals to easily and safely remove drain lids.
Working alongside the firm for over five years, the plant has galvanised steel which forms the frames of the innovative manhole covers, which are shallow in depth and can be designed to offer an easy lift drain installation and removal system.
The system not only saves homeowners time and money, but removes risks associated with low level heavy lifting while protecting the surrounding driveway, floor or other surface.
Selwyn Parrish, Commercial Manager at East Anglian Galvanizing, explained: "Galvanizing is a completely versatile finish for steel, and this project demonstrates its diversity in the way that it’s not just a finish confined to structural steel but smaller steel components can actually benefit from it too.
"The drain covers will be covering extremely damp and corrosive environments, so galvanizing ensures they will remain protected against rust and corrosion for years."
Bob Cave, Director of RJC Commercial, said: "We’ve developed a good working relationship with East Anglian Galvanizing over the years, with the plant treating all the steel frames we produce for the covers.
"We sell the product based on the fact we use galvanised steel and we know this is a huge selling point, as our customers can rest assured the product is reliable and won’t fail."
