Carillion Tops Out £42m Development

Carillion has marked the topping out of a new University of Birmingham library.

The £42 million building at the Edgbaston campus will include a variety of learning spaces and an audio listening room.

Four editing suite booths will be developed and study/research desks will be installed.

The building will have an 'Excellent' BREEAM rating and will provide a 50% reduction in energy usage compared to the existing library.

A plaque was unveiled by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir David Eastwood at the ceremony to mark the occasion.
