67 Pall Mall, London has been transformed into a luxurious clubhouse where members can enjoy access to some of the finest and rarest wines in the world direct from the Club's extensive cellars.
The site is in the heart of historic St James’ and occupies Sir Edwin Lutyens’ designed Grade II listed building which overlooks Marlborough House and is adjacent to Inigo Jones' pale-lemon Queen's Chapel across from St James's Palace.
Cemplas Waterproofing and Concrete Repairs Ltd, who are approved under the ‘Sika Registered Contractors Scheme’ introduced by Sika Limited to maintain the quality and competency in application of its products within the industry, were contracted by Vascroft Contractors Ltd who were working for the main contractor ISG to install in excess of 600m2 of a 'Sika 1' site batched three coat render tanking system to the lower ground floor and basement areas including the vaults.
'Sika 1' is a cementitious coating used as a waterproofing multi-coat render that can withstand the external water pressure present in a basement. Where there are construction joints, expansion joints, or cracks and fissures in concrete or masonry, a Hypalon Strip bonded with an epoxy resin is used to provide a high joint movement capacity.
