The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) has announced funding for a Severn Rivers Trust (SRT) project.
The HLF approved a development grant of £204,000 to restore the River Teme.
The grant will allow the SRT to develop plans and apply for a £3 million grant towards its 'Springs of Rivers' project.
The scheme aims to reconnect and improve over 200km of river through a number of linked initiatives.
Plans include to develop a new visitor centre hub.
Tony Bostock, Chief Executive of SRT, said: "We’re delighted that HLF has given us this support in recognition of the Teme being a truly unique and special place."
