A green energy plant has won an accolade at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) West Midlands awards dinner in Birmingham.
The Pershore Weir Hydro Station in Worcestershire received the sustainability award and was named overall winner for 2015.
The facility is a 236kW turbine installation on the River Avon, providing electricity for Pershore Leisure Centre.
It generates approximately 848MWh of green energy and prevents the emission of 420 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year.
The awards judges said: "The winning project ticks all the boxes for sustainability and environmental enhancement."
The dinner took place on 21 May and was sponsored by Sika, Amey and AECOM.
