Council Invites Firms To Tender For Vehicle Depot

Blaby District Council has invited local firms to a tender event for a new Vehicle Depot.

The event has been organised by Wates Construction in partnership with the council.

The £5 million Blaby Vehicle Depot will accommodate the council's 14 refuse vehicles, a vehicle service area and accommodate 70 members of staff.

The development is expected to be completed in Summer 2016.

Cat Hartley, council Group Manager for Planning and Economic Development, said: "We’re looking forward to hosting this event and engaging interested local construction businesses, who we hope will have an important role in this development."

Richard Scarrott, Business Unit Director of Wates Construction Midlands, said: "Construction projects are a fantastic means of injecting investment into the local economy and we’re keen to work with the council to engage local sub-contractors and ensure that this opportunity is maximised at Blaby Vehicle Depot."

The event will be held on 22 May from 8am-12pm in the Council Chamber.
