Trafford Council has awarded Amey a contract to provide environmental and infrastructure services for the region.
The deal is worth £235 million and will run for 15 years, with a potential extension of eight years.
Amey will deliver a range of environmental and infrastructure services including commercial and domestic waste collections, street cleaning, grounds maintenance, highways services, bridges, road safety and street lighting along with furniture, drainage and property services.
The contract is expected to save over £2 million for the council between 2015 and 2016, with services scheduled to begin in July.
Mel Ewell, Amey's Chief Executive, said: "Trafford Council is taking a pioneering approach to the way services are provided and we are delighted to be working with them on this contract.
"Combining these services allows us to support Trafford Council with efficiency savings whilst ensuring a high quality service is delivered to local residents."
Council Leader Sean Anstee said: "Trafford Council is pleased to be working in partnership with Amey and I am confident that, following the 12-month tender process, they are the right contractor to fulfil this brief."
