UrbanWind has announced £30 million in funding from Zouk Capital to develop on-shore wind projects in the UK.
Zouk Capital will provide equity finance to fund wind turbine schemes throughout the UK. UrbanWind currently has 100 sites in the development appraisal stage.
The Urban Winds Assets joint venture allows Zouk to purchase consented sites from UrbanWind for development.
Paul McCullagh, CEO of UrbanWind, said: "We look forward to working with Zouk Capital to bring wind turbine technology plans off the drawing board and into reality on sites across the country."
Managing Partner at Zouk Capital, Colin Campbell, said: "We are very happy to be supporting UrbanWind with this innovative funding allocation, which creates an opportunity for developers, farmers and landowners across the UK to unlock the potential of consented sites."
