Tidal Lagoon Power has appointed Andrew McNaughton as Director of Engineering and Construction.

Mr McNaughton previously held a number of executive positions at Balfour Beatty including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. He has also served as Vice President of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

It is understood Mr McNaughton will assume the role as Director of Construction to deliver the Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay power plant project.

The plant has a design life of 120 years and a net annual power output of over 500GWh which can power 90% of homes in the Swansea Bay area.
