Kier has been named the preferred bidder to complete the £170m first phase of The Ram Quarter regeneration scheme in Wandsworth.
Selected by the Greenland Group, the project will be delivered in three phases, valued at £600 million.
Kier will build 411,000 sq ft of new housing and retail space, laid out across nine blocks of between four and ten storeys.
Working alongside Gardiner & Theobald, architects EPR and engineers WSP Group, the first phase of the project includes a 56,000 sq ft refurbishment of a listed brewery complex, redeveloping it into a collection of restaurants, cafés and bars.
105,000sq ft of basement space will be constructed for car parking, as well as an energy centre to service the development's electricity needs.
Additionally, a micro-brewery, a brewery museum and 14 residential units will be developed. 230 metres of flood defences will also be realigned along the River Wandle.
The total number of homes to be delivered in phase one is 338.
