A planning application has been submitted by Stride Treglown for a new entry school and nursery on a former airfield site in Haywood Village, Weston super Mare.
Up to 420 pupils will be accommodated alongside a single class nursery. However, this is subject to fundable demand.
The design also incorporates a community room with a kitchen facility, toilets and its own separate entrance. Alongside external sports changing facilities, grass sports pitches and a multi-use games area will also be available to the community for use outside of school hours.
John Kirkby, Divisional Director for Stride Treglown, said: "We believe the design of the Haywood Village School sensitively reflects the history of the site, whilst allowing for interactive and sustainable learning facilities for future generations and a space for the local community to interact.
The former airfield site has provided us with an exciting brief and we hope that our design reflects this."
