Mott MacDonald has won an £88.5m contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction management services for the Shanghai Foxconn Plaza in China.
Appointed by Foxconn (Shanghai), the 50,000 sq m plaza will be the headquarters of Hong Hai Technology Group. It will comprise 21 stories and four annex levels, as well as a 32,000 sq m basement made up of four floors. There will also be parking spaces for 500 vehicles.
Sam Hung, Mott MacDonald's project director, said: "The Shanghai Foxconn Plaza is targeting both LEED platinum medal and national two-star green building certificates. The design includes sustainable features such as a double curtain wall façade, rainwater harvesting, LED lighting, solar panels and geothermal heat exchange."
