Story Homes has confirmed it will not be appealing Chorley Borough Council's decision to refuse permission to develop new homes on the Camelot Theme Park site.

John Jackson, Planning Manager for Story Homes said: "We have taken the decision not to appeal the planning refusal for Camelot. Instead, we will continue to work closely with the public and the Council to revise our plans for the site in the hope that we can come up with a suitable scheme which meets everybody's expectations and needs.

"We recognise that local residents have ideas and opinions about this site and we look forward to working closely with neighbours, residents, Chorley Borough Council and Lancashire County Council to shape the plans."

Following public consultation in 2014, Story Homes originally proposed to build 420 new homes on the former theme park site which closed in 2012, after years of decline. The plan was to provide a wide range of quality houses in a sensitively planned and attractive environment, including up to 35% affordable housing for local people.
