An improvement scheme on High Street in Swansea is continuing.
The project, scheduled for completion by the end of March, includes an upgrade of the pedestrian crossing at the College Street junction that will allow people to cross the road diagonally in addition to the current arrangement.
The project also includes traffic light upgrades and the introduction of automated bollards to help close Wind Street's junction with Caer Street and Castle Bailey Street more easily.
Environmental improvements are being introduced outside the railway station and the 'Ambition is Critical' micro-poem will be reinstated.
Councillor Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council's Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration, said: "The combination of environmental improvements, better crossings and upgraded traffic lights will improve High Street for many thousands of motorists and pedestrians every week.
"The High Street improvement works will also include new directional signs and maps that will be particularly handy for visitors arriving in Swansea from the railway station. These signs will point to the way to places like the shops on High Street, the Maritime Quarter, the city centre and the waterfront."
