Contractor Buoygues UK has won two Welsh contracts worth a combined £36.4 million.
One of the contracts, worth just over £21.1m, with The City & Council of Swansea is for the internal and external refurbishment of 238 flats spread out across two high rise towers and a residential block, in the districts of Sketty and Penlan.
Bouygues UK won the contract under the South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework and is collaborating with architects Stride Treglown and engineers Aecom.
Work is due to begin on site shortly and the project is scheduled for completion in April 2017.
The second contract has added a second 150-home development to Buoygues UK's order book in Cardiff.
The £15.3m deal will provide a combination of 146 flats and 12 townhouses as part of the affordable housing element of a Section 106 agreement, governing the wider regeneration of the International Sports Village site in the Cardiff Bay area.
Work begins on the project this week with the homes due to be handed over in phases next year. The homes will be delivered in four residential tower blocks varying in height from between five and eight storeys which will provide a combination of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom affordable and open market homes in the city. The new homes have been purposefully-designed; with an emphasis on energy efficiency and low energy consumption to minimise fuel costs.
