Essential maintenance work is to be carried out on the A358 between Taunton and Ilminster in Somerset.
Somerset County Council's highways team will be rebuilding and resurfacing the carriageway at West Hatch starting on Monday 2nd February.
Cllr Harvey Siggs, Somerset County Council's Cabinet Member for Highways, said: "The A358 is one of our busiest roads and with such high traffic volumes the carriageway has started to deteriorate.
"Resurfacing like this is much more effective than patch repairs and our teams will be rebuilding the road with an innovative new surface which should help it stay in better condition and reduce the need for future maintenance."
