Bouygues UK has won a contract with citizenM to build a new hotel in east London.

Enabling works are being carried out on the Holy Well Lane site in Hackney, which will be home to the new eight-storey, 216-room boutique citizenM hotel, based in Shoreditch.

The hotel is scheduled for completion in summer 2016.

Bouygues UK Managing Director for Construction in London and the South East, Arnaud Bekaert, said: "This builds on our group’s existing relationship with the citizenM brand internationally, where we delivered their hotel at Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris.

"CitizenM is consumer-led, with a distinctive style and the team here is delighted to be working on the new Shoreditch hotel to welcome more 'citizens' to London.

"The contract also shows we are reinforcing our presence in up and coming parts of the capital."
