Turner & Townsend Chosen To Develop Centre In China

Personal computer vendor Lenovo has selected Turner & Townsend to provide cost management services for the development of a new Research and Development Centre in China.

The firm is currently working on the software firm's newest centre, from design stage to practical completion.

Located in Wuhan East Lake High-Tech Development Zone the centre will consist of research and development facilities, conference rooms, staff canteen and commercial units. It will span two 137m-high tower blocks, a podium building and cover a floor area of 174,000m2.

Ben Chaston, Managing Director, China commented: "Our familiarity with Lenovo's vision and past contributions to their success will enable us to fulfil our role in this new project to the highest standards.

"As the 'home front' of Lenovo, Wuhan will become the research and development, manufacturing, and sales centre of Lenovo's mobile Internet products, and we look forward to being part of the legacy shaped by the world’s third best selling smart phone maker.

"Our efforts will be underpinned by a clear set of objectives and in-depth technical expertise, and we look forward to working closely with the design and project management team to focus on robust cost efficiency, value improvement and risk reduction."
