A Well-Educated Choice For Sports Surfacing

The Grimsby Institute Group (GIG) is one of England's largest providers of further and higher education.

The groups Nuns Corner Campus is home to the £20million University Centre, Grimsby, which opened its doors in 2011 and offers a dedicated home for Higher Education programmes in partnerships with the University of Hull and Teeside University. It has also just opened a brand new £6million Sports Centre where a full size all-weather sports pitch has been installed by White Horse Contracters, using Playrite’s Tournament 18 sports surface.

Tournament 18 is a sand dressed, tufted knit de knit polypropylene pile yarn product that provides an excellent playing surface for sports such as hockey as well as being suitable for multi-sport use. With excellent durability and hard wearing properties, Tournament 18 is available with inlaid lines to mark out a range of different sports. Meeting EN15330 Part 1 and FIH accreditation the surface is ideal for a number of sports including football and hockey.

Nuns corner campus is now well equipped with over 6300sqm of high quality artificial sports turf for all its students to enjoy.
